HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

This is a short background of a barangay which is today known as Jugno. According to the story given by some folks, the name Jugno has been given to this place on account of the abundance of trees used for medicinal purposes, and whose fruits are edible. The fruit grows in bunches, and when these fruits ripen, they fall as hunches to the ground, causing a loud fall, thus the term "Jugno". When the early inhabitants were asked the name of the place, they at once told that the place is Jugno. Up to the present, this place still bears this name.
